The Artist

Hailing from the eastside of Detroit, Meagen Maree discovered her passion for art at a young age. What started with tracing and doodling alongside her father, turned into a passion for creating something new with acrylic and watercolor. For Meagen Maree, art is not only an escape and place of peace; it is a necessary form of creativity and self-expression. Using her art to interpret life and recreate the world around her, she uses afrocentricity and urban culture as the influences for most of her work. Drawing inspiration from other urban artists, like Markus Prime and Brionya James, Meagen Maree hopes that her art will inspire an entire generation of creatives.
